Privacy policy

The purpose of this policy is to explain how, when and why MIDAS Aviation holds information about individuals, how, for what purposes and on what grounds these ‘personal data’ are subsequently processed, who processes them and what rights the individuals have in connection with their personal data.

The only personal data held and processed by MIDAS Aviation about individuals is the same information as may be contained on a business card – name, job title, business name, email and phone contacts. 

Some of this data is gathered when we meet people at conferences, events and meetings and are given business cards. Some of this information is already in the public domain and we have gathered it from our research. Some relates to individuals who we have had a historical business relationship with. Other personal data is held subsequent to an individual completing a form on our website indicating they wish to be added to our mailing list and receive newsletters, notifications or other communication form us. If an individual sends us an email us we may retain that email including the name, email address and any other personal information contained within it.

We hold this data in a single, password-protected spreadsheet, accessible only by the Directors of MIDAS Aviation. We aim to hold this information for a period of three years before seeking a renewed permission to hold the data. 

MIDAS Aviation is the “Data Controller” and one of the Directors is responsible for maintaining our privacy policy and ensuring data we hold about individuals is safe.

The data is used from time to time for the purpose of promoting events, publications, new products and services we are involved in organising and producing, and also to distribute free content and market insight prepared by MIDAS AVIATION. 

Although we may work with partners from time to time, we will never share the contents of the entire mailing list and neither will we sell the contents of the mailing list to other parties. If we ned to share parts of the mailing list with parties based outside Europe we will require that those parties ensure an adequate level of protection for the data received.

Individuals may request access to the data we hold at any time and may request that we delete of remove personal data about themselves.
