Tony Hallwood



Tony brings over 30 years aviation experience in the airport and airline industry to the AviaDev Consult team and he has held a wide number of director roles in aviation.

Between 2003 and 2017, Tony was Aviation Development Director at two of the UK's fastest growing regional airports – Bristol Airport and Leeds Bradford Airport, leading both to deliver significant and record traffic under his tenure. His success at delivering new routes and frequencies across the full service, low cost and charter sectors allowed Tony to develop and build strong relationships with a wide range of short and long haul carriers. His successes included new based capacity with a range of carriers including Ryanair, Jet2, easyJet, British Airways, Aer Lingus, KLM, Lufthansa alongside delivering the first transatlantic service to New York from Bristol with Continental Airlines in 2005. Tony's background also helps him to understand the importance of regional airlines in delivering key new services to support business and leisure demand.

Prior to his airport experience Tony worked in Board and senior aviation management positions within the fast growing European tour operating industry helping to shape the successful development of Airtours, My Travel, Cosmos and Saga. Tony was also the first Managing Director of First Aviation – a leading airline broking business.

Apart from his Aviation Development skills, Tony is passionate about delivering excellent PR to support airlines and airports in raising their route and service profile across their network. With his strong sales and marketing background and having delivered in excess of 50 new routes across over 20 carriers he looks forward to working with airlines and regional airports in association with stakeholders and tourism partners, to secure and develop new business and leisure services.
