In the final part of our series with Blue Swan Daily about the degree to which some of the world’s largest airports are dominated by a single carrier, we comment on the wisdom of airport expenditure on route development when decisions are effectively in the hands of one airline.
It is clear that those airports with a wide range of airline customers and no single dominant customer who have the most to gain from route development. Add in the mix, an already sizeable airport operation and a nice leisure destination on the doorstep, and the case is convincing.
